It’s spring time in Amador County and there are great adventures to be had in this historic town. Check out these four different locations when you are visiting:

Andrae’s Bakery – This family owned bakery has called Amador home since the summer of 2000 and has been a must do for visitors ever since. All of the baked goods offered are made from scratch and handcrafted with fresh natural ingredients. They use locally grown when possible and take pride in all of the specialty foods that are offered. You will find breads, pastries, and desserts along with a full menu of sandwiches if you plan to stay for lunch.

Kennedy Gold Mine – The historic Kennedy Gold Mine offers tours every weekend and holiday from March to October. This is an ideal trip for people of all ages, kids can mine for gold and learn about the history of the California gold rush. You can book a guided tour or wander the grounds on your own. There are picnic areas and a gift shop to wander through along with historic videos of miners working the mine in the early 1900s.

Amador Whitney Museum – The museum is located in what was the Kling building before it was purchased by Jerrold Whitney and his partner Clayton Pinkerton and was used as an antique shop up until they passed away and donated it to be sued as a museum celebrating the town of Amador. You can tour the museum and see exhibits like the old post office, the boarding house, and a mine shaft. Each experience is made to resemble what it was like in Amador during the gold rush.

Amador Flower Farm – Whether you are a gardener or simply a lover of flowers the Amador flower farm is a beautiful place to stroll around in the springtime. They have over four acres of flowers, and plants for you to look at. There are numerous events, tours, and classes to experience. You can watch the gardening demonstrations and purchase plants as well.
